5 years, 4 months, 25 days.

64 months, 25 days.

 282 weeks.

1,974 days.

47,376 hours.

2,842,560 minutes.

170,553,600 seconds.
Those units of time seem random to most people.  And depending on what they represent, could be a long time!  Sarah was born on May 15, 2008 and died on October 10, 2013.  1,974 days.

March 8th - marks the 1,975th day since she has been gone - the latest in a series of never-ending milestones. I have been most nervous about this one - Sarah has been gone longer then she was here.

Tonight (March 7th), while writing this post, I sit in the same ER Sarah visited on her last day on this Earth - with a kidney stone (I will be just fine). I am fortunate my family was already coming down to be with us this weekend so they are a wonderful help. Alex, also got sick tonight while we sit in the hospital and Emily is still away at Outdoor School this week, hopefully enjoying herself and learning. We have missed her dearly this week and can't wait to pick her up Friday morning!

I have experienced many emotions these past few weeks leading up to today - the days leading up to a milestone day are often worse then they day itself. But we move forward, we have to.

I am proud to say that officially today we have raised $100,000 between The Sarah Jayne Orton Memorial Foundation at the Baltimore Humane Society and Sarah's Cause. We have helped many dogs find loving homes and have support 11 different animal shelters all in Sarah's name. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years and remember Sarah, it means so much to us to hear Sarah's name.

So many milestones have already been passed - and many more to come. I only hope to keep your memory alive as long as I live and am counting down the days until I see you again.

1,975 days closer…
